When you wake up in the morning you feel it in your body and it stays with you throughout the day. You may be able to control it when at work or when you must focus on something else but when that’s over, it’s back again.
Over time it becomes the dominant thing in your life and by then it really is in the driver’s seat and you are no longer in control of where it’s taking you.

Remember how in the early days of telephones an operator would literally connect your telephone wire to someone else’s using a plug board so you could speak directly?
How annoying if one day when trying to make a call the operator plugged you into anxiety by mistake and then just quit their job, leaving the connection in place. So every time you wanted to do something else all you got was anxiety. Over and over when you try and do what you have previously been able to do perfectly well, all you get is this anxiety.
