Deborah Winyard - Clinical Hypnotherapist Reading, Berkshire
I first came across Hypnotherapy as a client over 15 years ago. Like many people, my discovery of the effectiveness of hypnotherapy started with a word-of-mouth recommendation through a friend. Taking that friend's advice and visiting the therapist they recommended was one of the best decisions I ever made.
My interest in the subject grew and I subsequently trained at Postgraduate level with the University of West London via the London College of Clinical Hypnosis. I did my NLP Licensed Practitioner training with Richard Bandler who, along with John Grinder, first developed NLP.
I am a member of the professional bodies BSCH (British Society of Clinical Hypnosis) and the CNHC (Complementary & Natural Healthcare Council) and am an Anxiety UK Approved Therapist, providing therapeutic support to the charity’s members and partner beneficiaries. I am subject to Anxiety UK’s regular monitoring of my professional qualifications, supervision, continual professional development, insurance and professional body membership in addition to complying with the ethical framework and professional standards set down by the BSCH and CNHC. I'm also registered with Psychology Today and Hypnotherapy Directory.
When I’m not working I enjoy being outdoors, preferably near or under the sea. I love scuba diving, although this is taking a back seat at the moment as my partner and I introduce our young daughter to the wonders of the UK’s beautiful beaches. So these days I am more likely to be seen lying by a rock pool searching for crabs than under the water. We do still manage our annual diving holiday to the Isles of Scilly off the coast of Cornwall, where we explore the fascinating shipwrecks and stunning underwater walls and pinnacles that surround the islands. I have also started to do a bit of body boarding, although so far learning how to reliably catch the waves is proving a bit elusive.
